CABIN 15                  
   

 

       
 

Cabin 15 is the furthest along in terms of our Basic Cabin Remodeling (BCR) Plan, and is projected to be finished by the end of November 2011. Pictured below is the cabin prior to siding removal.

There are currently six cabins in various stages of the BCR plan. The goal is to remodel ten of Bluestone's fifteen cabins with volunteer support in three phases.

BASIC CABIN REMODELING PLAN                

Phase One

  Replace the shingled roof and install ridge vent, ceiling insulation, and new heater units. The estimated expense for Phase One is about $3,500.00.
Phase Two   Remodel both bathrooms and install new PEX plumbing that will not freeze in the winter. The estimated expense for Phase Two is about $4,000.00.
Phase Three   Tear off the existing siding, insulate walls, replace windows, and reinstall new siding. The estimated expense for Phase Three is about $6,000.00.

Phase 2 was completed for Cabin 6 and started on Cabin 7 in the fall of 2010. These pictures show contrast between this phase finished and as a work in progress. iPhase 2 for Cabin 7 will be completed in 2012.
